My journey with food began in high school while working for a family owned gourmet grocery that featured prepared foods sourced with local ingredients. From the very beginning of my journey I was fascinated by the process of seeing fresh raw ingredients being transformed into delicious, nutritious meals.
I continued my culinary adventure by entering the restaurant industry working as a server, bartender, baker, and cook in Miami, Austin, Portland and California. Extensive travel throughout Southeast Asia, Japan and Europe has also enabled me to learn advanced techniques and diversify my menus to celebrate a variety of different cuisines.
In addition, I have a Bachelor of Science in Geography. The combined experience of cooking and my education, led me to Kauai to pursue a deeper connection to farming and cooking. In 2008, I moved to the islands and spent a few years working on a goat dairy, making cheese and growing vegetables. Through farming, I have been able to combine my education and work experience synthesizing environmental science, food production and culinary arts.
In 2013, Farm Cook Kauai was born! My vision has been to create delicious, gourmet foods using the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients while providing an extraordinary dining experience. My hope is to continue to bring the abundant and vibrant ingredients that are grown and produced on the islands to your table for a magical and unforgettable event!
